Refund Policy
A clear policy for when things change.
Effective date: 2026-09-09 · Version: 2026-09-09
This policy applies to paid subscription plans purchased on opensep.com. It forms part of the Terms of Service. Purchases are processed by our merchant of record, Polar Software Inc. ("Polar"); refunds are issued by Polar to the original payment method. The seller of record for consumer-law purposes is OpenSEP, a sole proprietorship in the Republic of Korea.
1. Why refunds are limited
Every job runs on rented GPU hardware the moment you start it, and that cost is incurred whether or not you keep the result. So the general rule is: a subscription period you have used is not refundable; one you have barely touched may be, within the limits below.
2. When you can get a refund
A new subscription or a renewal, largely unused. If you request a refund within 14 days of the payment and you have run no more than 5 jobs in that period, we will refund the payment in full. If your use is only slightly above that, we may instead offer a partial refund proportional to the unused part of the period.
An introductory price. Where a plan was bought at an introductory price for its first billing period, a refund under this section returns the amount actually paid for that period, which is the introductory price and not the standard one.
A billing error. If you were charged incorrectly (for example twice for one period), the excess is refunded in full, without conditions.
A failure on our side. If the Service is unavailable for a substantial part of a billing period through our fault, we will, at your choice, extend the period or refund the unused part.
Statutory rights. Nothing in this policy reduces the rights you have under the consumer laws of your country of residence, including any right of withdrawal. Where a statutory right is broader than this policy, the statutory right applies.
3. When you cannot get a refund
- A period in which you ran more than a handful of jobs, regardless of whether you are satisfied with the results: separation and transcription are automated processes and the quality of a result is not a basis for a refund.
- A renewal you forgot to cancel, more than 14 days after it was charged. You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals but does not refund the current period.
- Time during which your account was suspended for a breach of the Terms.
- The free plan, which has no charge.
4. How to request a refund
Write to support@opensep.com from the e-mail address on the account, with the order reference from your receipt, within the 14-day window. We reply within 3 business days. Approved refunds are issued by Polar and usually appear on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
You may also request a refund through Polar's customer portal, linked from your Plan page ("manage billing").
5. Chargebacks
If you dispute a charge with your bank instead of contacting us, the account is placed on hold while the dispute is open, and the subscription the disputed payment paid for is suspended, returning the account to the free plan. Please contact us first — most problems are resolved faster that way.
6. Changes
We may update this policy. Changes apply to purchases made after the new effective date.
